Highway motorcycles

Highway bikes, or "gran turismo" bikes, were conceived for long distances.  In this type of motorcycle, the comfort and ease of the driving and speed is most important.

These bikes are characterized by a close to vertical driving position that allows the driver to keep a straight back, with extended arms and legs.  As you can guess, this position makes riding more comfortable and it makes it easier to handle long hours driving the bike. 

To completely provide comfort and function, these highway bikes allow you to comfortably carry a companion.

The majority of highway bikes usually have a high cylinder engine (normally upwards of 1,00 cc), with an enveloping cowling that protects the driver from the wind and inclement weather, and a large gas tank, which allows for great range of kilometers.

This class of motorcycle also has subcategories.  So you can find bikes from the biggest and heaviest gran turismo to the sportier highway bikes that blend comfort with sport.
